to a Grange.  The Grange News is a bimonthly state newspaper sent free

          I respectfully petition to be initiated and enrolled as a
          member of your Grange.  In presenting this application, I
          am influenced by no motive other than a desire to unite
          with others in elevating and advancing the interest of my
          community through the principles of the Grange, and
          receiving in return such benefits and advantages as may
          accrue to all who belong to the Grange.  I promise a
          faithful compliance with the By-Laws  of this Grange, and
          the Constitution and Laws of the State and National
          Grange.  I have not previously applied for membership in
          this or any other Grange in the past 6 months.

                    Grange Membership Pledge
                     (Please read and sign)

	In signing this oath, I declare that I will exercise due 
discretion in not communicating the ritualistic work of the 
Grange to anyone, unless authorized to do so. That I will honor 
and abide by the Golden Rule, the laws of my state and nation, 
and the Constitution, rules, and regulations of the Grange at all 
levels. That I will not sponsor anyone for membership whom I 
know to be lacking in qualities of character and gentility of 
demeanor, nor oppose the admission of anyone solely on the 
grounds of personal prejudice. I will not act deceitfully or 
fraudulently toward the brothers and sisters of my Order nor the 
good citizens of my community, nor stand idly by while others 
do so if within my power to prevent it. That I will endeavor to be 
a true and faithful shepherd of the Earth and Patron of 
Husbandry. That I will actively perform the duties and 
participate in the activities of this Order, and aid others to do the 
same. Should I knowingly or willfully violate this pledge, I will 
resign myself from membership in this Order.
